Sock Master™ Specifications

Overview

The Sock Master™ Auger Bucket is a highly efficient and mobile solution for erosion and sediment control. Designed to enable on-site filling and direct placement of silt socks, it eliminates the need for labor-intensive handling and transportation of pre-filled socks. This drastically reduces labor costs and improves safety on the job site. Its mobility-focused design, combined with precision and versatility, makes the Sock Master™ Auger Bucket an essential tool for modern erosion control practices, ensuring effective sediment management and environmental protection with minimal effort.

Available Interchangeable Auger Options

The Sock Master™ Auger Bucket offers versatility with two interchangeable auger sizes, each specifically designed to handle a range of silt sock diameters and cone sizes, catering to various project needs:

  • 8-Inch Auger: Ideal for filling 8-inch to 12-inch silt socks. This auger is also compatible with a 12-inch cone, making it a great choice for medium-sized erosion control projects that require precision and efficiency.
  • 12-Inch Auger: Designed for larger silt socks, the 12-inch auger is perfect for filling 12-inch and larger silt socks. It is also compatible with 18-inch and larger cones, ensuring effective filling for heavy-duty applications and large-scale erosion control projects.

The versatility of the Sock Master™ Auger Bucket with its interchangeable augers ensures it can adapt to various job site requirements, providing a robust solution for erosion control professionals who need reliability and efficiency in their equipment.

Recommended Tools and Usage

  • Cutting Tools: Heavy-duty scissors or a very sharp knife for cutting socks to the desired length.
  • Tying Tools: Rebar wire ties with a quick twist tool recommended for quick and secure sealing; zip ties are an alternative option.

Safety and Maintenance

  • Hydraulic Pressure Management: Keep hydraulic pressures below 3,300 psi for safe operation.
  • Regular Inspection: Check for wear and tear on auger and cone components to ensure optimal performance.

Recommendations for Use

Cutting and Securing Socks

Use a heavy-duty pair of scissors or a very sharp knife for cutting the socks to length. For tying the ends, rebar wire ties with a quick twist tool are highly recommended for a secure and fast seal. Zip ties are also an option for those who prefer them.

Hydraulic Pressure Management

Ensure that hydraulic pressures do not exceed 3,300 psi to prevent equipment damage and maintain safe operation.

Material Compatibility

Although designed primarily for wood mulch, chips, and compost, the bucket can handle a range of materials. However, for optimal performance and longevity, it is best to use it with the recommended materials.

Interchangeable Augers for Versatility

The 8-inch and 12-inch augers are interchangeable, providing users with the flexibility to switch between auger sizes as needed. This adaptability allows you to handle a range of project sizes and sock diameters without the need for multiple pieces of equipment.

  • Easy to Swap: The augers are designed to be quickly and easily swapped on-site, minimizing downtime and allowing you to adjust to changing project needs efficiently.
  • Enhanced Efficiency: By selecting the appropriate auger size for the specific silt sock and cone, you can ensure smooth and consistent filling, reducing material waste and optimizing labor efficiency.
